LOL

Is it normal to start laughing by yourself in a random situation where no one has actually said anything? Didn't think so. I might start laughing at an old thing that suddenly comes to my mind and the people next to me are like "Are you ok?". A while ago I just started giggling when I remembered one scene of Men in Black where Tommy Lee Jones´ chracter showed Will Smith that aliens actually live in Earth, they just use disguises. Behind him was a monitor showing various normal people (well, they looked normal). And then me and my brother noticed that Sylvester Stallone was one of the "people" in the monitor. It was just too funny. I have no idea why? Weird? I know right!

To Mr. Cheng

I heard about this wicked piece of genius art from postcrossing. This is an über cool project by a Swedish Artist Eric Ericson. He sent all kinds of random, unwrapped items by mail to Mr. Cheng (?) who lives in Germany. I can't believe it really worked! Brilliant! He has published a book that has pictures of the items he sent. Check out the website.
the picture is from the postcrossing site.

Love yourself.

I'm a girl. I'm a teenager (for now). Sometimes it's really hard to be me, the person I was born to be, when everyone has some idea of what I'm supposed to be like. I guess when I say "everyone" I mean the media, and all the roles they encourage me to take. I know that no one can force me to do what is generally expected but it's just that all these things linger in my mind and sometimes pop out when I'm feeling week (I'm not tall and thing enough and silly stuff like that). I laugh at shallow people but since I worry about looks I'm shallow too. I guess I need to stop pointing fingers now. Everyone knows that advertisements are made for money, they are shallow and fake and yeah you should be what you are blah blah stop being naive Ebs and so on but I think that all this avarice productions changes us. It makes us believe that those looks are something to look up to. It's not real. Beauty that really matters has to be something deeper (Just to be fair to the non-edited beautiful people, some people actually are blessed with a extraodinary, pretty face. Don't want to (only :D) sound like a bitter step-sister kind of a person).

Dove has.. or had a self-esteem campaign. I really like this video. It's almost propaganda but it's nice and has a message.

The general (western) beauty ideal is kind of Eurocentric so different races are struggling with issues concerning their own heritage. Last spring I had an course about ethics in school. One group was doing a presentation on cosmetic surgery they should us (being the rest of the class) this video about Asians (in America) and plastic surgery.

First I kind of laughed in disgust. How could someone be so desperate? But then I realized that I'm actually doing the same thing. I hate my coarse and curly hair because it isn't the average type of hair. To be fair, I'll add this video that I found that's about African American women and their hair issues (relaxers, weaves, braids... oh boy).

One day i felt like dying because the way my hair looked like (and till looks like) didn't suit me. My lovely and mature friend helped me with this song. The song will speak for itself.

So I want all of you to remember that you are amazing beautiful people and it can't be measured by just looks. Love yourselves. Here is one last video. It's called 'Song For A Friend' by Jason Mraz. Pay attention to the lyrics.

Feel Like A Star

I saw this commercial on tv (sky news). I thought it was pretty clever.. and funny too! I mean, for a airline advertisement, right? What do you think?

wake me up when a sissy disposition is in vogue

I wanted to suprise my Granny. She is - well sometimes fastidious about how everything should be in the right order and how everything should be so clean (just to be fair and candid, I should let you know that I'm not the most organized person in the world), so I entered to the radio contest. You could win some money to your friend. I wanted to get someone (professional) wash her windows.

So, yesterday when I was dying of boredom I got a call. It was a producer from the radio channel. I can't explain the felicity I felt. Unfortunately, shortly after the call I the feeling turned into panic. I had to tell my story - talk. I can't help it but when I need to talk inorder to say something important, I panic. I couldn't consentrate all day but I desided to be persevering.

So I had to wake up early this morning. I was so nervous. So the host called me and I told her why I would want the money (I don't know why I was being pedantic even though they will pick the winner in lottery). I had even written my speech on paper and learnt what to say by heart. But my voice was trembling. I really hate when that happens. So I did my thing. I just felt so mortified... by me... How can I ever have an effect on anyone if I can't speek (properly). I was filled with indignation. But I can only get better, right? Perhaps if I would have listened it when it came out from the radio, I would have noticed that it wasn't all that bad when you come to think of it. So I guess all I can do is be a man and prepare myself to save the world. Or something.

A sunny day

Today it was a really nice and warm day. Summer will officially start tomorrow. Weird. Time goes by so fast. Scary.

So almost everyone (well, every girl) was wearing a dress today. I thought I would be the only one. I was feeling really happy because my exams had gone better than I thought. So I went to some shops and walked around happily enjoying the blue sky. I noticed that especially some men were staring at me. I was like "WOW, finally". I really felt gorgeus. When I got home I noticed the back of my dress had got stuck underneath my bag and well, lets just say it had this Marilyn Monroe effect...

So much for being fabulous

Take 6 <3 <3 <3 <33333

I was just listening to this amazing amazing consert. Take 6 came to Finland... to FINLAND (can you believe it?)!! They were just too breathtaking. I fell like a young girl again (ehh) . They were so American and so cool. They... I just can't believe it. I still need to read for an exam and I can only think about their singing. After they finnished they came to sign autographs. It was just so silly. I was shaking. I almost peed in my pants. I'm so happy I had the chance to be there. I was feeling really low today. I wish I lived in the States. Don't worry, I'll get over this state... but for now, let me be a little girl. (Ropi, don't you roll your eyes!)
